--- name: newsletter-from-notes description: Turns rough, messy notes into a readable newsletter draft with subject line options, preview text, an intro, three sections and one call to action. Use when someone has bullet notes or fragments and needs a first draft to edit and send. --- # Newsletter From Notes Rough notes in, a clean newsletter draft out. ## When to use - You have bullets, fragments or pasted thoughts and want a draft for a small audience. - You want one clear action per issue. ## Inputs - The notes file or pasted text. Ask for it if it is missing. - The sender name, the audience and the single action you want readers to take. Ask if unclear. - Optional: tone and a length limit. ## Steps 1. Sort every note into: news, people, tips, dates and logistics, or unclear. 2. Pick the three strongest groups to become the three sections. Merge small notes into them. Notes that fit nowhere go to "Left out". 3. Write 3 subject line options under 50 characters, each in a different style (plain, curious, specific). Add one preview text under 90 characters. 4. Write a 2 to 3 sentence intro in the sender's voice. 5. Write the three sections, each with a short heading and 2 to 4 sentences. Keep every date, amount and name exactly as in the notes. 6. End with one call to action: one sentence, one action, repeating the deadline from the notes if there is one. 7. Add "Questions for you" listing every missing detail the draft needs (prices, links, times). ## Output Write `newsletter-draft.md` with: `## Subject lines`, `## Preview text`, `## Draft` (intro, three sections, call to action, sign-off), `## Left out`, `## Questions for you`. ## Rules - Never invent facts, prices, dates, quotes or customer stories. Put a gap in "Questions for you" instead. - Exactly one call to action. No fake urgency or scarcity beyond what the notes state. - Mark uncertain items with "[confirm]" in the draft. - Ask before assuming the audience or the action. - Write results to a new file, never overwrite the notes. - Keep private data local.
